Let's Go Camping Guide: How camp etiquette is good for the campground.

Page 24-25 of your Let’s Go Camping Guide.

Camping Style is all about knowing your surroundings. At least 45% of campers use an RV or trailer. Tent camping is also gaining an advantage with a new generation of campers. Camping gear has become more sustainable with innovative sources of power. Campgrounds are moving into private land with make-shift campgrounds geared toward the glamping crowd. Camp Rally Workshops, Vintage Get-Together, and Camping Shows are many ways to get campers into the camping spirit.

No matter your Camping Style, one thing remains the most essential element of camping.

Etiquette!

Camping etiquette is all about respecting the spot. It is hard to believe that campers are unaware that walking through a fellow campers' space is simply a big NO! But believe it or not, so many campers act surprised by the invasion of space.

Campers are territorial.

So here are a few things to remember when camping in a campground.

1. Do not walk through a fellow campers' spot with permission.

2. Know the noise level of your campsite after 10 PM.

3. Pay attention to your words; kids are listening.

4. Do you know where your kids are?

5. Know the rules regarding firewood and camp fires.

6. Wildlife love camp food. Keep camp creatures safe with storage essentials.

7. Listen, nature is talking.

8. Please do not leave your dogs alone in the campground. They bark, yes, the bark!

9. Do not clean your fish, wash your dishes, hair or body parts at the camp water source!

10. Be respectful of the camp space, keep it clean.

11. Not all camp bathrooms are stinky! Treat them like you are visiting nature’s home.

12. Some camping spaces are way too close, remember we can hear you!

Camping is about getting away, not bringing it with you!
