November 2023 Night Sky, Let's Go Camping.

November is a great time to get into the campground.

  • November 3 is the best night to catch Jupiter; get out your telescope. Jupiter is in opposition; it will be that giant bright planet in the evening sky.

  • November 9, Venus plays hide and seek with the Moon.

  • November 11-12, look up the Taurids Meteor Shower is sending wishes come true.

  • November 12, Uranus will be that green star shining halfway between Jupiter and the Pleiades.

  • November 17-18, look towards constellation Leo for the Leonids Meteor Shower.

  • November 20, The Moon, Jupiter, and Saturn dance the night away.

  • November 25, Catch the Moon and Jupiter sitting in the evening sky.

  • November 27, A full Beaver Moon rises.

Did you know?

This month's full Moon is called the Beaver Moon because beavers begin building their dams for the winter season.
