Desert camping limits closeness to towns so invest in a good charging station.

Stay Hydrated

• Know your route and all gas stations along the way.

• Make sure your vehicle is in tip-top shape.

• Have road flares and a great emergency car kit.

• Let someone know where you are going and for how long.

• Checklist all items at least twice.

• Plan meals-forget something when desert camping-the local store could be miles away.

• Carry plenty of water, then add some more water just in case.

• Organize clothing according to the weather; the desert has daily weather patterns. It can go from cool to hot to cold all in one day so be ready.

• If camping in extreme weather, keep watch on kids and pets and stay covered during the hottest part of the day.

• Know the closest hospital for humans and pets in case of a rattlesnake bite, hiking, or health risk.

• Checklist all First Aid kits.

• Don't forget sunglasses, sunscreen, shade tents.

• Invest in quality solar equipment.

• Don't forget the binoculars, cameras and GPS device.

• Invest in hiking maps, gold pans, off-road trips.

• Look, down there are a lot of fascinating animals, plants, wildlife in the desert.

Always remember the camp code: Leave it as you found it.
