Fun ways to get your camper ready for fall camping in a campground.

October is here-now is the time to change it up for fall in the campground.

Open Everything Up

The weather is changing. Fall is moving in.

Open up the tents and campers

Change the cool cotton to winter flannels.
Pull out the comforters and down pillows.
Bring along lots of rugs for the cold winter floors
Pull out and refresh last year's winter items.
Jackets
shoes
Hats
Gloves

Remember to look at umbrellas, rain, and fishing gear, air out the tent, and replace or repair broken or loose items. Also, go through the tool kit and all camp equipment.

Cover up picnic tables with flannel fabrics
Buy yardage at fabric stores or use flannel sheets.

Upgrade the First Aid Kit

Go through all your first aid kit supplies
don’t forget the pets.

Go through the spices-winter loves cinnamon, nutmeg, sage.

Go eco-friendly in the campground with new innovative recycling uses.

Pickle up some snacks

Bring along mason jars

Cut up all farm stand treasures.
Fill the jars with veggies, add fresh herbs, garlic, ginger, spices with a touch of salt and pepper.

Take equal parts water and vinegar and boil in a sauce pan
use white, apple cider, wine vinegar or rice vinegar

Pour hot liquid into the jars, let cool.

The veggies will have a crisp pickling flavor-perfect for afternoon camp snacks. For faster flavor you can blanch veggies before pickling.

Fall in love with the changing of the leaves

Camping can be challenging, or it can be easy. There is always something that can happen, but the more you camp, the easier it gets. The Let’s Go Camping Guide loves the campground. So catch up on Just the Basics with the guide by your side.
