Camping 101: How to enjoy the campground.

Just the Basics

The beauty of a campground

Reservations are confirmed;

the car, truck, or RV is ready to head out on an adventure. Settling into a campground may be immediate, or it may take a few days to relax into the surroundings, but once you do, the campground becomes a temporary home, even if for only a day.

Take an early morning walk before the campground wakes up, find a quiet spot and listen to the sounds.

Have a conversation with a seagull.

Find hidden paths filled with surprises.

Every campground has a rhythm.

There is a movement to every campground, no matter the size.

People are constantly moving in and out. The landscape changes daily.

Meeting fellow campers enhances the day's activities.

Camping Memories

Send yourself a few postcards from the camping trip and travel stops. Once you get back, the cards will arrive with delightful camp memories.

the soul of a campground is…

everywhere.

Take a camera out for a hike,
go fly a kite,
draw
paint
listen.
You can find nature’s glow walking on a trail
start a puzzle
create a bed outside and lay in it
read a book
write in a journal
do nothing at all.
Catch a sunrise and the sunset.
Find an empty spot, and wait for the campground to find you.

Explore the Night Sky

Nothing is better than the night sky in the campground.

The sky lights up with falling stars, planet alignments, Greek mythology.

Nature has a way of surprising you! Scrub jays in campgrounds tend to be way to friendly, a fellow camper wondered if this bird was our pet it spent so much time in the campspot.

Always remember the camp code.

Leave no trace!
