Go fly a kite!

Things to do in the campground.

There is nothing like sitting in a camp chair watching a kite playing with the wind.

The benefits of flying a kite.

After looking at phone and computer screens flying a kite is good for the eyes. Getting away, especially when camping, time can become a friend. Bringing a kite along is excellent for camping exercise. Usually, you need a running start, getting your heart rate up, eyes focus on the kite while your brain coordinates the airlift with the wind. Flying a kite is social, a great thing to do with kids, and releases stress.
Even if you are not flying a kite, watching one makes you smile.

There are so many kites in the marketplace.
Some are simple, while others are tricked out to perform feats of magic with the wind.

Bring back the inner kid, pick up a kite and take it into the campground. We like to stop at local kite shops when we travel, so most of the kites in the camper are from camping trips. The best thing about a kite-they are easy to take care of; most come with packaging for camp storage, prices range from cheap to expensive and they come in a broad range of whimsical art forms.

Most beach towns have kite shops. The Pirates Bounty was purchased in Pismo Beach. It was not easy to put together on the first try, but it was good to go once figured out. It is still in its original package and stores well in the pop-up camper. Taking care of a kite is about putting it together and taking it apart. Treat it well, and it will give you years of fun.
