Lemon Drop in the Campground

Camping drinks can go two ways-adult and kid friendly.

The Camp Drink

The lemon drop is a clean, simple drink. Make a big batch of lemon syrup ahead of time and store it in a bottled container.

Decorate rims of glasses with a bag of Lemon Drop Candy Sugar- a mixture of crushed lemon drop candy and sugar to taste. Make this ahead of time and store it in an air-tight container or baggy.

No matter the beverage, the camp drink should also be part of the camping checklist.

  • Keep it simple if you are going with a theme drink.

  • Make it easy to go non-alcoholic.

  • Bottle the components, so you don’t have to do it in the campground.

  • Cut up all fruit, including slices for decoration.

  • Make simple syrups, mixed drink components and rim sugars ahead of time.

  • Add fun camping bling like sugar rims, umbrellas, straws, fruits, and herbs.

Drinking and driving do not mix well, even in a campground.

Make it Kid Friendly with a Lemon Splash

Use the same lemon syrup for non-alcoholic drinks and as a kid-friendly alternative.

Add 2 cups of lemon syrup to 1/2 cup of lemon juice. Stir, pour into pitcher, add ice, lemon slices, and serve.
