Did you know June 2023 is National Camping Month Let's Go Camping.

Schools Out

Schools are out, so the campground is full. If you use the camp facilities, make a camping note of the cleaning times for bathrooms and showers.

Click the wall paper pattern to find out all about the Camp Shower.

Camp Etiquette regarding showers and restrooms:

  • Treat the restrooms and showers like you are at home. It tends to be a disregarded protocol, especially at beach sites.

  • Check camp showers for tokens or coins and have a shower kit ready for easy in and out.

  • Bring extra toilet paper, popular campgrounds tend to run out during the summer. D

  • Don't forget it is always best to have a portable toilet in emergencies. There are some good one out there so check out what works best for you.

Check the campground boards camp activity.

Beach Camping

Look at the campground boards for tide charts for tide pool excursions. Remember, the tide pools are for looking, not taking. Have a camera ready for the beauty revealed.

Toilet Seat Covers, batteries, trash bags are all things you can buy in bulk.

Desert Camping

Desert Camping, remember it can be cool in the morning, hot during the day, and cold at night, so think about clothing layers. Rattlesnakes are out and about, so watch trails and keep an eye on pets.

Forest or Lake?

Camping in the Forest may still be a bust with the snow-pack in California, so check the camping locations for what's open. Remember bears are out and misquotes are plentiful.
Keep all food in bear lockers, NO EXCUSES.

Lakeside Camping
Keep away from stagnant water and check the life vest rules for kids using boats on lakes;

They differ from state to state.

The Night Sky

Adding a  telescope to your camping experience can become a great way to enjoy the night sky, and it also gives a chance to let fellow campers enjoy the experience. But, be careful; there could be a line waiting to see Saturn’s rings on a good night in the campground.

More about the Monster in the suitcase click the telescope!

The Let’s Go Camping Guide is all about camping in a campground.
