Kids in the Campground

The Artist

Family fun in the campground.

There is a special magic when you listen to kids playing in a campground. The sounds of happiness and glee mixed with a few yells and screams and the occasional tears from an adventure. Kids tend to get on other kids' nerves sometimes, so pulling out their strengths and creating unique things to do with a focus on what each camp kid loves is a great way to explore the campground.

The Artist

Introducing The Let’s Go Camping Guide camp kid artist EJW and The X Factor

Camp Note: Camping is fun, but you never know who is in the campground.
Create camp names for the kids to use for safety precautions.

EJW-is our 12-year-old camp artist-she has a great artistic style. Her camp personality is glamping, not camping. She works with different mediums from watercolor to markers. Check out: twilight in the campground Kids Checklist-a free download with our Camp Note signup.

Create some Artwork

Family Art Afternoon
Gather up the seasons, be careful to know “what is what” poison ivy loves a campground—Lay selection across the camp table.
Lay down some paper and favorite drawing tools.
Let everyone draw their botanical sketches.
Hang all artwork on a close line for fun camp viewing.

The X Factor

Having two artists is a blessing.
X is nine,
he is a little more quirky and dabbles in the abstract,
he is currently working on a May 2022 camp art
storyline.

We like to call this aerial view of tents in the campground.

Camp Illustration assignment was for a camping theme.
You can find artist tools, papers, and canvas at craft and office supply stores.

Camping DIY Art Box

It can be any size and filled with various mediums from watercolors to crayons-skip the messy paints, and keep towels and water close for easy clean-ups. Art packs can fit in a suitcase, boxes, bags, the camp tote, or backpack.

Get into the campground and let the artist explore the medium.
