August 1-2, 2021  Saturn is in opposition; this is the best time to capture Saturn’s rings if you have a telescope or a good pair of binoculars. August 12-13, 2021, the Perseid Meteor Shower lights up the night sky, est. 60-100 meteors this year because the moon will be below the horizon most of the night.  You can’t miss Jupiter, the brightest light in the sky.  August 19, 2021, it is in opposition; even with binoculars, you should be able to see four of Jupiter’s larges moons.

Get you camera, telescopes, binoculars ready.

Having a telescope in the campground is excellent during these special occasions but be ready once you pull the monster out of the suitcase. The line starts to form, and before you know it, you have a campground filled with laughter, enjoying the night sky together.
