Morro Bay, California

The Morro Bay rock is one of the main attractions you think about when visiting this small ocean-side town known for secluded beaches, hiking trails, bird and ocean wildlife.

Morro Bay State Park campground sits next to the golf course and the estuary. It is a beautiful campground that even when full is quite for a campground if you forget about the crows. There is a two-vehicle maximum, and dogs are welcome here.  It is open year-round but check the website for any issues going into 2022. The campground has 120 campsites, 30 for RV’s with 2 group sites. There are flush toilets and hot showers (token operated). There is also an RV dump station.

Egrets and wildlife from your campsite.

There is a lot to do camping at Morro Bay. The town is sweet and comfy, filled with shops and treasures. Get up early to find otters waking up for their morning adventures. Go whale watching, stop at the many restaurants for lunch or dinner.
